I am an aspiring writer ambitiously working my way up from broke grad to hopeful career woman and I’ve got my sights set on one day publishing some material of my own.

Other than my hopes and dreams: In my life journey, I’ve developed an insatiable interest in the healthy lifestyle.

I had always been somewhat obsessed with food. It was a running joke in my family to never let me too close to the cake. Although I’ve never been overweight, the way I ate brought me to border-line diabetic. My sweet tooth had a hold on me that I am still learning to curb today.

Although I could never have been considered a good cook or baker in my earlier years (I’ll never live down that instant mashed potato incident), I’ve developed a love for creating and tasting new and healthy foods. I’ve begun to explore my boundaries and take the time to learn new techniques, experience new flavors and gain the skills to be a better “chef” while staying healthy. This culinary adventure has become a large part of my life and I enjoy every opportunity to embrace it!

Along my food and nutrition journeys comes fitness. I played lacrosse since I was about 14 up until my last year at a division II college level in May 2012. I love the sport and still enjoy keeping myself active. To keep my mind and body motivated, I am constantly researching and trying out new workouts. My new favorite? Yoga!

I started this blog as a way to keep myself writing and also to express the overwhelming amount of research and time I’ve spent looking into new nutritional habits, recipes and fitness routines.

What is “folly?” Folly is all the mishaps that arise on any given day involving either my attempts at complicated (or even easy) recipes and personal findings, and/or the ever-lasting fitness journey (being a clumsy athlete and all). Life is a constant journey and I aim to improve with each and every stride.

    • Hey! Thanks for the compliment. I have to admit I’m in the midst of a job change and neglected my blogging a little but my best advice initially is to definitely keep up with it and write compelling content/recipes/ healthy lifestyle advice that everyone can relate to and enjoy.
      You’ll definitely need to go out and “follow” new people (like-minded), comment on their posts you most enjoy and create an interaction, like others posts, etc. Put yourself out there because the more you do, the more it will come back. Pinning your posts on Pinterest helps too!

      I too am still discovering way to increase my following and interaction with my love for a healthy lifestyle and food. It’s a constant progression and is so fun and enjoyable to share your interests and grow a following of like-minded people. Best of luck!
